Marvel Unveils First Trailer for ‘Wonder Man’ Starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Sir Ben Kingsley

At 2025 New York Comic Con, Marvel Television had the spotlight, airing the first trailer and poster of the tremendously awaited Disney+ series "Wonder Man." This eight-episode event stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the lead role, alongside Sir Ben Kingsley, who were both present on stage to present the show to the fans.
A Hero Born from Hollywood
Set and shot in Los Angeles, Wonder Man explores the facets of fame, ambition, and identity through Simon Williams, a struggling actor caught between Hollywood dreams and superhero realities.
Speaking to the NYCC audience, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II described Simon as a deeply layered character.
“There’s vulnerability, ego, ambition, and the lonely road that comes with chasing a dream,” he shared. “As Simon, I get to walk that fine line and experience it all. I’m excited for audiences to join me on his journey.”
Ben Kingsley Returns as Trevor Slattery
Veteran actor Sir Ben Kingsley returns to reprise his role as Trevor Slattery, last seen in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Reuniting with director Destin Daniel Cretton, Kingsley said the series pays tribute to Hollywood’s creative spirit.
“LA represents people’s dreams — actors, writers, and everyone who keeps this industry alive,” Kingsley said. “Filming among the city’s iconic landmarks felt like living inside a love letter to cinema itself.”

‘Wonder Man’ premieres exclusively on Disney+ on January 27, 2026, at 6 PM PT, marking Marvel’s next major streaming release following Daredevil: Born Again.
